BASEBALL LACES TIMELINE From Then to Now: 300 Years of Women in Baseball 1748 First recorded women’s baseball game in England—largely unrecognized and informal. 1866 - 1900s First recorded women’s baseball game in the United States—lacking formal recognition. 1943 - 1954 AAGPBL offers rare spotlight but with gender-specific constraints. 1972 Title IX boosts women’s sports but highlights inequalities. 2000s Growth in women’s sports; baseball lags.
